Precast concrete box culverts are a proven solution for unusual load conditions, low head room, or special waterway requirements. Box culverts are faster, safer and easier to install than cast-in-place systems.
The Premarc Corporation manufactures precast box culverts up to 12 foot spans in accordance to ASTM C-1433. Special designs for sizes and loads other than those shown in ASTM design tables are available. Long Span box culverts can be designed up to 24 foot spans.
All precast box culverts are produced with a tongue and groove joint. Joints can be sealed with butyl rope in accordance to ASTM C-990, external joint wrap in accordance to ASTM C-877 or mastic and filter fabric.
Box culverts can be produced to accommodate bends, manhole tees, side tees and tapered ends. We also manufacture precast cutoff walls and footings to fit various sizes of box culverts and wing walls. Our CON/SPAN precast headwalls can be shipped pre-attached to our box culverts and inserts can be installed to accomodate guardrails. CON/SPAN wing wall systems are manufactured with integral soil anchors which reduce the size of the footing and allow for immediate backfill. Precast wing walls and headwalls can be used for CON/SPAN or box culvert applications.
